The asset tagging solution is structured around four capability areas, each addressing a distinct operational need.
Pillar 1 - Asset identification & tagging
Every asset gets a unique Tag ID linked to its SAP functional location and equipment record. Tags are printed or encoded, applied, scanned to validate, photographed as proof, and written back to SAP. Duplicate tags are prevented at system level.
Pillar 2 - Inventory visibility & verification
Cycle counts executed against SAP inventory documents, scan-any-tag asset status enquiries (stock, location, last verified, open work orders), and full tool check-out / check-in custody with supervisor visibility.
Pillar 3 - Maintenance linkage & scan-to-work
Scan an equipment or functional-location tag to pre-populate a SAP PM notification with the correct technical object, and confirm location at the point of work before posting work-order confirmations.
Pillar 4 - Governance & reporting
Every transaction writes an immutable audit log entry. Role-based access controls who sees what, and dashboards track tagging progress, count accuracy, last-scanned ageing, exceptions and custody status. Export to Power BI.
From untagged asset to governed digital identity
A consistent, controlled sequence takes an asset from the SAP register all the way to ongoing verification and maintenance linkage.
The SAP asset register loads into d.Code as the Tag Register; tagging standards and tag types per asset class are defined at Blueprint.
Field teams apply the tag, scan to capture the Tag ID, photograph as proof, and write the ID back to the SAP equipment record.
Staff scan tags during rounds, counts and tool checks, updating last-scanned and last-verified timestamps as the audit control.
Scan-to-work pre-populates PM notifications, cycle counts post to SAP, and exceptions and dashboards keep everything auditable.
